✨ Happy weekend! Today is Saturday, October 19, 2019, and we’re making some major decisions.
ALL ABOUT ME
The bathroom is one of the first rooms in the house to get a makeover when it’s renovation time. And with good reason! After all, it’s where we get ready for the day, where we start the process of winding down each night, and where we sink into a claw-foot tub with a glass of wine, surrounded by candles and rose petals and…wait, that last part was just a dream. But it doesn’t have to be. It’s time to make your bathroom goals a reality, sans complete reno. Shop the biggest and chicest bathroom trends (like marble, metallics, and smart appliances and details), and transform your bathroom into the dreamy oasis you deserve. It’s called self-care — ever heard of it?
• What Else You Need To Know
Not sure you’ve got the design eye that’s needed to turn your bathroom into a spa-like oasis? Start by browsing some celebrity bathroom interiors for quick and easy inspiration. Peep Meryl Streep’s over-the-top plant collection and Cindy Crawford’s marble shower. Speaking of plants, if you don’t have a green thumb, deciding which plants will thrive where can be a daunting task. The fix? Simply browse a list of vines and shrubs that live their best lives in a humid bathroom, and pick your faves.

|A new fashionable Canadian workout-wear brand has arrived — and it’s good for you and the planet. TMPL Sportswear is free of potentially harmful dyes and chemicals that can be found in athleisure, and all the products are made — using fair trade practices — here in Canada. Inspired by a 2012 report released by Greenpeace called “Toxic Threads,” which shed light on the less-than-clean aspects of sportswear, fashion and footwear, TMPL Sportswear believes that since your skin absorbs more dyes, chemicals, and whatever else when you sweat, athletic wear in particular should be designed with consumer safety in mind. Oh, and did we mention that the entire line is basically made for mirror selfies at the gym?|
• Just Dew It
|Leave it to Glossier to launch yet another product that promises dewy, wet-looking skin — and make us all trip over ourselves to hit “add to cart.” Introducing Futuredew ($30), a moisturizing, just-launched oil-serum hybrid that promises glowy skin for up to 12 hours. The inspiration behind the product (which we can’t believe didn’t exist in Glossier’s list of offerings until now) is that ultra-shiny finish you see in the mirror when you’ve just gotten a facial, or just finished layering on your serums, essences, and moisturizers (you know, the once-in-a-blue-moon that you manage to do your entire skincare routine). Made with jojoba, grapeseed, evening primrose, and rosehip oils, mixed with sugarcane-derived squalane (a natural, ultra-hydrating ingredient that’s known for its antioxidant benefits), and light-reflecting particles that really make your skin glow, this is one product that definitely delivers on its promise. 🌟 PRO TIP
“CBD oil used in manicures is healthy for nails because it contains fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins that help regain the strength in weak thin nails. It helps them restore their shine and strength, leaving them healthy if done consistently.”

• Royal Escape
As if a getaway to a private island could get more enticing, Royal Caribbean is taking our vacation dreams to the next level, unveiling its latest plan to build a sustainable, carbon-neutral private enclave called “Perfect Day at Lelepa.” (Sign us up.) The private island in the South Pacific will be built with features designed to “safeguard the island’s ecosystems,” making it the first truly carbon-neutral private cruise destination in the world. The island is being created in partnership with the community of Vanuatu, with the goal of incorporating the distinct natural beauty and diversity of the island nation, while also providing employment opportunities for locals. Perfect Day at Lelepa is expected to open sometime in 2022. Travel + Leisure

Benjamin Moore’s Colour Trends of the Year have been released and it looks like 2020 is shaping up to be fresh, airy and pastel-hued. Comprised of soft pink, periwinkle and mint shades, including the brand’s Colour of the Year, First Light (a subtle rosy shade), a couple coats of any of these gorgeous picks will fill your home with the easy charm of the first day of spring. According to the company, “the ten harmonious hues of the Colour Trends 2020 palette deliver modern paint colour pairings that combine optimism with understatement. A timeless way to lighten up.” (Which is exactly what we’re going to need after another long Canadian winter.) House Beautiful
